Synopsis :

Cette série met en scène une branche spéciale de l’air force américaine, le Stargate ou SGC), dont les équipes explorent d’autres planètes grâce à une porte des étoiles et mènent une lutte continue contre une race d’extraterrestre parasites appelés les Goa’uld. Les Goa’uld règnent sur un grand nombre de planètes de la galaxie et se font passer pour les anciens dieux des mythologies terriennes.

Au cours de ses explorations, l’équipe SG-1 rencontre aussi bien des peuples pacifiques tels que les Nox ou les Asgards, que des peuples en mal de puissance tels que les Réplicateurs et les Ori. La série s’inspire aussi bien d’épisodes récents de l’Histoire humaine (Guerre froide, etc.) que de mythologies anciennes (Mythologie égyptienne, nordique, légendes arthuriennes, etc.) pour créer des épisodes indépendants ou des arcs entiers de scénarios.
